Slide Resource Packets

Women Artists from the Renaissance to the Present (Elementary and Middle/High School Levels)
Based on NMWA’s permanent collection this packet comes in two forms: one for elementary and one for secondary school teachers. The packets present a culturally diverse group of artists and a range of styles, periods (16th century to the present), and media (painting, sculpture, photography, pottery, print, fiber arts, and mixed media). Each contains 30 color slides of works in the permanent collection, information about the artists and works of art, suggestions for classroom activities, and a bibliography.

The elementary school packet contains a script that teachers can use with their students. The high school packet contains topics for discussion in the humanities and interdisciplinary curriculum ties in language arts, history and social studies, geography, and math and science. This packet includes suggestions for hands-on art activities and three sample lessons on portraiture, modernism, and cultural identity.

List of artists and works included in the packet.
