The National Museum of Women in the Arts' Publications Department produces
an average of two exhibition catalogues a year, keeping pace with the museum's
busy exhibition schedule. In 2000, NMWA unveiled its newest permanent collection
catalogue, Women Artists: Works from the National Museum of Women in
the Arts by Nancy G. Heller, which sold out in just three months. Now
in its second printing, Women Artists was named Best Book by the
American Association of Museums in its 2001 Publications Design Competition.
In addition to books, exhibition and permanent collection catalogues,
and brochures, NMWA also publishes an award-winning quarterly magazine
for museum members. Women in the Arts
reflects the museum's mission, providing readers with unique educational
information on women's contributions in the visual arts and other artistic
disciplines, including music, literature, film, theater, and dance.
