By Jo Going spacer Wild Cranes

By Jo Going

In 1997, Jo Going, an artist from Alaska, won the Library Fellows competition with a proposal for a book of poetry and art. Wild Cranes celebrates the royal birds of the unbound wilderness known for their loud trumpeting call and longevity. The work ponders the majesty of the Alaskan landscape and contemplates the relationship between humans and the land that inspires spiritual renewal.
