The permanent collection of the National Museum of Women in the Arts has grown rapidly through an active donations and acquisitions program. Since NMWA's opening, many patrons and friends of the museum have donated paintings, drawings, sculpture, photographs, prints, crafts, and objects of decorative art. Others have provided funds that have made it possible for the museum to purchase works of art that will enhance the collection.
The curatorial department maintains a wish list of women artists active from the sixteenth through the twentieth century whose work would significantly augment the museum's holdings. Although their names may not be familiar to the public today, with your interest and assistance, these artists will be known to future generations.
