- Enter names or keyword(s), such as places or subjects.
- For help with selecting terms, click “See list” and select terms from the pop-up windows.
- Use shortened forms of words to retrieve all forms. Example: Entering watercolor retrieves watercolor, watercolors, watercolorist, etc.
- Search for phrases by placing terms in quotes. Example: “World’s Columbian Exposition”
- Select “Show results that contain ALL of these words” to find artist records that contain all of the keywords. This is the same as performing a Boolean “AND” search. Example: Entering Silver Mary retrieves records with both Silver and Mary.
- Select “Show results that contain ANY of these words” to find artist records that contain at least one of your keywords. This is the same as performing a Boolean “OR” search. Example: Entering Silver Mary retrieves records with either Silver or Mary.
